SNOWFEST Scholarship Contest
Empowering Local Youth. Strengthening Our Community.
Celebrating Tahoe Students & Local Nonprofits
The SNOWFEST Scholarship Contest is one of the most important and inspiring parts of North Lake Tahoe SNOWFEST. This unique program combines philanthropy, leadership, and community spirit, giving local high school seniors a chance to earn scholarships while raising money for Tahoe-area nonprofits.
It’s a celebration of what SNOWFEST is all about—supporting the next generation, building community connections, and giving back through fun.
Proceeds from festival events, sponsors, and raffle ticket sales help fund both student scholarships and local nonprofit organizations that make Tahoe stronger every day.
How It Works
Each year, high school seniors from across North Tahoe and Truckee apply to become SNOWFEST Scholarship Candidates. Each candidate selects a local nonprofit to support, then helps raise funds through online and in-person raffle ticket sales.
100% of their ticket sales go directly to their chosen nonprofit, and the top fundraisers earn scholarships for themselves.
Prizes include:
1st Place: $4,000 Scholarship
2nd Place: $3,000 Scholarship
Top Two Fundraisers: $500 Scholarships each
Every ticket purchased supports Tahoe students and community causes—plus, you’ll be entered to win amazing prizes like a Palisades Tahoe Season Pass, Cobalt Boat Rental, Jet Ski Rentals from Sunnyside Water Sports, SNOWFEST merch, and more.
Tickets are $5 each or five for $20.
