Every winter, North Lake Tahoe SNOWFEST brings people together to celebrate our mountain town spirit—and part of that celebration is helping local students like you reach new goals.

The SNOWFEST Scholarship Contest isn’t just about earning money for school—it’s about leadership, community involvement, and learning real-world skills that will carry you far beyond graduation.

You’ll represent your high school and a local nonprofit, take part in SNOWFEST events, and raise money for a great cause—all while building connections, confidence, and experience you can be proud of.

Scholarship Awards

  • 1st Place: $4,000 Scholarship

  • 2nd Place: $3,000 Scholarship

  • Top Two Fundraisers: $500 Scholarships each

Plus—every candidate’s ticket sales go directly to their chosen nonprofit organization, making a real difference in the Tahoe community.

Who Can Apply

You must be a senior at one of our local high schools: North Tahoe High • Truckee High • Sierra High • Coldstream Alternative • Tahoe Expeditionary Academy • Squaw Valley Academy • Incline High

Application Requirements

  • Completed online application (below)

  • Personal essay about your goals, Tahoe roots, and community involvement

  • GPA and school transcript

  • Extracurricular activities and work experience

  • Sponsorship information

  • Headshot photo (JPEG format) for publicity

Once approved, you’ll receive your personalized QR code and fundraising link to begin selling raffle tickets online and at SNOWFEST events.

Important Dates

  • Applications Open: January 11, 2026

  • Applications Close: February 8, 2026 (midnight)

  • Candidate Introductions: At the SNOWFEST Kick-Off Party

  • Winner Announced: March 9, 2026 at River Ranch Closing Ceremony
