One of SNOWFEST’s longtime crowd favorites is back, and this year it’s proudly powered by Leo’s Electric.
Join us for a full afternoon of live ice carving, creativity, and community energy. Teams go block to block transforming solid ice into frozen works of art while spectators watch the magic unfold.

Carving begins at 1:00pm
All sculptures must be completed by 6:00pm
Judging and trophy ceremony runs from 6:30pm to 7:00pm
Competition Details

Participants must be 18 years or older
Maximum of two carvers per team
Each team is given five hours to sculpt their block

Judging is based on artistry, creativity, level of difficulty, and relevance to the theme. Carvers are encouraged to design something that blends all four for a true showstopper.
This years theme is nature.
Think bold, wild, and larger than life. From towering pines and alpine wildlife to crashing waves, frozen forests, and Tahoe’s untamed landscapes, this theme is all about celebrating the natural world that surrounds us. Go realistic or abstract, local or mythical—if it belongs outdoors, it belongs here.
Sponsors
Carvers are welcome to bring a sponsor. Sponsors may display signage next to the ice block and share coupon cards, rack cards, or small flyers with attendees. Sponsors are also encouraged to contribute to the prize pool or support a SNOWFEST nonprofit beneficiary.
A huge thank you to Leo’s Electric for lighting up this classic SNOWFEST tradition and helping keep the creative spark alive. Come watch the ice fly and cheer on your favorite carvers.
